Windham is throwing down the gauntlet on celebrity fabric collections with Amy Sedaris‘ I Like You. Take that, Marie Osmond and Ty Pennington! Aside from Amy’s celebrity, there sure aren’t enough funny/weird fabric collections out there so I hope this marks the beginning of a long and beautiful contract.

Spring Quilt Market 2012: Windham Fabrics

Known for more traditional designs and motifs, Windham scored the golden ticket when they signed Lotta Jansdotter. Her first licensed collection, Echo, was a hit and it’s rather safe to say that Bella, her second collection, will be no different. The colors – tangy orange, rich indigo, aqua, yellow and a warm gray – combine quite perfectly. She brought the crosshatch print back but other than that, it’s all new and ready to roll in any project. Releases in August, so save up now!

Lotta Jansdotter: Bella

It’s fair to say that Echo by Lotta Jansdotter for Windham Fabrics was one of the major hits of 2011. And just off the heels of its near-victory in the Fat Quarterly’s Modern Madness comes news of her second collection, Bella. Looks like it’ll debut at Spring Quilt Market, and be available in stores in August. And it also looks like it will coordinate well with Echo, if you still have some in your stash! Designer-hero to many (and prolific author) Lotta Jansdotter will launch her first quilting-weight cotton collection in November 2011. It’s called Echo and it’s with Windham Fabrics. Visit the Windham blog to see the fabric in action — that large crosshatch texture print looks terrific as a guy’s button-down shirt!
