Art Gallery Fabrics impressed with its prize-winning booth and lovely new prints. I spoke with Pat Bravo, who walked me through all that Art Gallery had to offer.

The Pure Elements solids were a huge hit at market and at Sample Spree. They are remarkably soft and the colors are so vibrant. Pat said they will continue to introduce more colors in the future.

Spring Quilt Market 2011: Westminster/Rowan – Amy Butler

Amy Butler‘s fabric was some of the first fabric that I ever bought, so I was thrilled to meet her in person and see the new lines.

The booth featured Amy’s new line, Organic Soul, features prints “derived and rescued” from Amy’s Soul Blossoms collection. These prints will be available in FIVE substrates: corduroy, a silky rayon, organic quilting cotton, voile, and laminated cotton. No joke- corduroy and rayon! Apparel sewers, get excited! The fine-wale corduroy was really my favorite — it would make a lovely backing

Both artists are represented by Lilla Rogers studio, with whom P&B has been contracting with the last couple of years to bring some great design to fabric (Helen Dardik’s first collection, Mod Kitchen, Caroline Gavin‘s Wild

Spring Quilt Market 2011: Hokkoh – Hummingbird

From the looks of it, Hokkoh had a smaller booth set up this year (no samples), but the collections were strong and they brought with them a small rack of apparel fabric that I was going a bit crazy over. The apparel fabric was a bit of a test for them, and they were surprised that we were both so excited about it, so maybe we’ll see a lot more of it next
