P&B Textiles has lots of trend-conscious collections bursting with personality and soul coming out this coming winter and spring:

Out of This World is the next collection from illustrator Jill McDonald. It’s a delightful collection centered around two big, fun panel prints.

Quilting Solids Roundup

Solids have gained (re-gained, maybe) a lot of respect as a quilting fabric in recent years. There’s no better proof of that than the abundance of choices on the market now. Manufacturers small and large are offering their own unique palettes. I thought a little overview of what’s available these days might be useful for color fanatics who are looking for just the right shade of this or that color. For this post, I am listing plain weave quilting weight cottons only — we’ll leave twills, voiles, sateens, lawns, flannels, etc. for another day. I’ve also included the number of

Jessica Hogarth: VeloCity

Jessica Hogarth is a recently graduated textile and surface pattern designer from the U.K. She’ll be officially launching her studio work at the British Craft Trade Fair this April, but in advance of that, we get to enjoy her debut fabric collection, VeloCity, from P&B Textiles. After I post this I’m running right over to my iPod to download the free LabC App, which lets you use Jessica’s and other talented, international surface designers’ works as your wallpaper.

Fall Quilt Market 2011: P&B Textiles – Adeline by Nancy Mahoney

Adeline is a new 30s reproduction collection by Nancy Mahoney for P&B. Ms. Mahoney is a quilter, teacher, author, and designer. She has designed over a dozen fabric collections with P&B, and this is something like her 5th or 6th 30s collection. What a great mix of prints. If you’re loving the dress below as much as I am, you’ll want to know that the pattern is Vogue 8633.

Fall Quilt Market 2011: P&B Textiles – Soul Garden by Carolyn Gavin

Carolyn Gavin‘s newest collection for P&B is called Soul Garden. It’s bursting with color and butterflies and you can practically hear the flute playing Grieg’s “Morning.” I love Carolyn’s painting that she put in the display too.

Karen Tusinski: Gallery Fiori

Karen Tusinski is an amazingly talented painter. Her work has been translated into a fabric collection by P&B Textiles — the collection Gallery Fiori is the latest to result from P&B’s partnership with Lilla Rogers Studio, who represents Tusinski (as well as fellow P&B designers Helen Dardik, Carolyn Gavin, and Jenn Ski). This painterly, textured, lush, and modern collection is available in stores now.

New Release Tuesday: 6/28/11 Part II

New Release Tuesday is my periodic roundup of new fabric sightings (mostly quilting cottons). These fresh arrivals have started to arrive in fabric shops and are ready to buy. Retailers, as always, if you carry any of these collections, let us know in the comments.

This week, there was so much to cover, I broke this post up into two parts. Here’s part I.

Spring Quilt Market 2011: P&B Textiles – Helen Dardik and Karen Tusinski

P&B Toomuchery

I just had a few minutes before closing to check in with the reps at P&B Textiles. They were getting a lot of deserved attention for two lines in particular — Toomuchery by Helen Dardik and Gallery Fiori by Karen Tusinski. Both artists are represented by Lilla Rogers studio, with whom P&B has been contracting with the last couple of years to bring some great design to fabric (Helen Dardik’s first collection, Mod Kitchen, Caroline Gavin‘s Wild

Helen Dardik: Toomuchery

Woohoo! The previews are starting to come out in force in advance of Spring Quilt Market. Here’s a sneak peek at Helen Dardik‘s second collection for P&B, Toomuchery. I’m going nuts over here, this is so perfect. A panel print! Butterflies! Crazy Helen florals unleashed! Color color color! And it comes out on merely a month — glad we don’t have to wait too long.
