Silvia Dekker: Atomic Bots

silviadekkeratomicbots

We are gearing up for the Spring Quilt Market posts and it’s hard to come up with fabrics to show leading up to them, because I don’t want to scoop my own writers! But here’s a collection that I must have missed at last market and is now just arriving in stores — Atomic Bots by Silvia Dekker for Wilmington Prints. Silvia lives in the Netherlands and is a Lilla Rogers designer. This is actually her second Wilmington collection, the first was the flannel collection Winter Warmth.

Saffron Craig: Valley View

valley-view-bundle

Valley View is Saffron Craig’s newest organic cotton collection for Fern Textiles in Australia. It is composed of eight prints in a bright spring/summer palette of pink, yellow, purple, and black, with elements of mod 1960s, cross stitch, and (as always!) the Australian landscape. There is a cheater print and a signature Saffron border print too. They are available directly from the Saffron Craig website, and coming very soon from Honey Be Good in the U.S.

Monaluna: Raaga

raaga

Jennifer Moore of Monaluna drew on Indian style and motifs — elephants, lotus flowers, paisley, pomegranates — for her upcoming collection, Raaga. And of course, it’s 100% GOTS-certified organic.

Felicity Miller: Charleston Farmhouse

fullstack

I assumed Felicity Miller‘s new Charleston Farmhouse collection for Freespirit referenced Charleston, South Carolina, but no, it’s about the Charleston house in Sussex, England, the meeting place for the loose collective of creatives and intellectuals known as the Bloomsbury group. The focus print drew me in when I first saw it in a booth at Quiltcon — the navy colorway captures my favorite palette at the moment (rust again!). The stripe coordinate is really interesting because the dark stripes create a three-dimensional, rippling effect when you step back. The style is

Creative Thursday: Locally Grown

locallygrown

I’m so charmed by Locally Grown by Creative Thursday for Andover. The two colorways are Neutral and the vintage-kitchen-inspired Kitsch. It started with family members’ search for the perfect chicken fabric, and grew from the inspiration of urban gardening and farmer’s markets.  It’s in stores now.

Sarah Fielke: On the Pond

spotlight-promo-onthepond

Sarah Fielke‘s newest collection is for Spotlight, a fabric store chain with locations in Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore. There she joins the ranks of Denyse Schmidt’s DS Quilts collection, Prints Charming, and Reprodepot. The colors are perfectly spring for us (though they’re deep into summer there) and I like how subtle the water theme is. Sarah has these fabrics for sale on her website for customers in the non-Spotlighted countries of the world.

And only a month until Sarah’s new book comes out, too!

Moxie by Erin McMorris

Here’s a closer look at Moxie, Erin McMorris‘ latest for Freespirit (and by that I mean closer than we got at Quilt Market). This collection seems perfect for tween girls, but many of the prints have a wide appeal. It’s arriving in stores now. Images from Fabricworm.

Saffron Craig: Banksia Bloom

banksia-bloom-strikeoff-all

Banksia Bloom is the newest GOTS certified 100% organic cotton collection by Saffron Craig for Fern Textiles. I know I’ve heard of these “kookaburras” and knew they were Australia-related but had no idea what they were, now thanks to Saffron I know they are birds that frequent rivers. The collection is also populated with Australian exotica like gum flowers and banksia trees. It’s an education, beautiful design, and sustainability all in one! The fabrics are available now directly from the Saffron Craig shop, and stateside by Honeybegood.
