Fall Quilt Market 2012: Art Gallery Fabrics

{ Splendor 1920 by Bari J. }

I’m just loving what Pat Bravo has been up to with Art Gallery Fabrics. I’ve always loved her fabrics, we were one of the first shops in Sydney ever to stock them when she started the business all those years ago! But I particularly love the designers she’s bringing in, and she is obviously taking great care and effort to make sure they are a good Art Gallery Fabrics fit.

Bari J has a few new ranges coming out – her stand was

Art Gallery Fabrics: New Designers

{ Bari J.’s Lillybelle, Cool Sunrise colorway }

When it was announced that Bari J. would be Art Gallery Fabrics’ first licensed designer, I knew that signaled a huge sea change for the company. I didn’t realize that the shift would be happening so quickly, though, did you? Of course Art Gallery is anything but timid so their recent announcement of two more new designers shouldn’t come as a surprise.

Art Gallery Fabrics: Rhapsodia

A little Bollywood, a little Missoni, all Art Gallery Fabrics … Rhapsodia is the newest in-house collection from Art Gallery Fabrics Studio. Did you catch that? Not only have they brought in Bari J. as their first licensed designer, they’re also starting to separate out in-house collections from owner/founder/creative director Pat Bravo’s. (This, in addition to launching an all-new website recently.) They are some of the hardest working people in a business of crazy-hard-working people, so this growth is much-anticipated, well-deserved, and intriguing all at once!

Quilting Solids Roundup

Solids have gained (re-gained, maybe) a lot of respect as a quilting fabric in recent years. There’s no better proof of that than the abundance of choices on the market now. Manufacturers small and large are offering their own unique palettes. I thought a little overview of what’s available these days might be useful for color fanatics who are looking for just the right shade of this or that color. For this post, I am listing plain weave quilting weight cottons only — we’ll leave twills, voiles, sateens, lawns, flannels, etc. for another day. I’ve also included the number of

Fall Quilt Market 2011: Art Gallery Fabrics

Here’s what’s next from Art Gallery Fabrics: Poetica (above), in stores February 2012. Pat Bravo has been brining some rougher, more natural looking lines to her motifs, which I love.

Summerlove has a warm-season palette befitting its name, and with lots of Tangerine, which happens to be the Pantone color of the year. It’ll be out in March 2012.

Rhapsodia will be Art Gallery’s April 2012 collection. It weaves in

Giveaway: Modernology by Art Gallery Fabrics

Art Gallery Fabrics‘ newest collection is Modernology, designed of course by Pat Bravo. This may be my favorite collection of hers yet. In fact my first attempt at putting together a Fat Quarter Shop Blogger’s Choice Fat Quarter Bundle was largely based on it, until I realized Amy Ellis’ bundle was almost the same! Great minds think alike, you know.

Art Gallery Fabrics is offering up two half-yard bundles of Modernology to True Up readers today. There will be one bundle of each colorway. Just leave a

Art Gallery Fabrics: Hyperreal Garden

Hyperreal Garden is the next collection to look forward to from Art Gallery Fabrics (but you don’t have to look forward for long, it’ll be in stores this month!). I’m especially loving this print — it’s got an almost comic-book feel. See the fabrics in action in this post and on Flickr. Designer Pat Bravo is giving away Hyperreal Garden Fat Quarter Sets on her blog, but only for a few more hours, so get over there and let her know what inspires

Spring Quilt Market 2011: Art Gallery Fabrics

Art Gallery Fabrics impressed with its prize-winning booth and lovely new prints. I spoke with Pat Bravo, who walked me through all that Art Gallery had to offer.

The Pure Elements solids were a huge hit at market and at Sample Spree. They are remarkably soft and the colors are so vibrant. Pat said they will continue to introduce more colors in the future.
