Meet Archie!

Hi everyone. I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend!

It has been a while since I have posted due to the trapped nerve which is still not 100% fixed and won’t allow me to sew……

and more recently, this little fellow :-)

Meet Archie the labrador retriever.

Isn’t he gorgeous? Here he is with his Kong. It has been stuffed with grated apple and then frozen. Lovely for a hot day like today.

Home At Last!

Here he is...Ollie is finally home!

"Hi guys!  It's me, Ollie."

Originally we were supposed to pick him up on Wednesday but the breeder asked if we could postpone it until today because of having to make three trips on consecutive days to bring some of his brothers and sisters to the airport to

Discovering Pictou…

I love how the tartans of Nova Scotia, Cape Breton, PEI and New Brunswick were used.. The background for the sky was tiny log cabins and the ocean was storm at sea blocks  Very creative.
Can't believe it....I have lived in Nova Scotia my whole life (almost 60 years)  and I had never visited Pictou!  Well, I corrected that yesterday and I am so glad I did.  The Hub and I drove (I

The older you get–well!

Have you noticed that the older we (that is the royal we *wink*) get the faster time seems to fly by?  As a child School terms went on for ever and waiting for Christmas to arrive took an eternity.  Now, someone or something keeps taking my time.  I’m committed to listing my OPAM totals for each month and for the third or is it fourth month in a row I’ve been late – I swear my time is being acquired by someone or something else.

With all that said, I do have a couple of

Charise’s House Finished

I finished Charise's block for the cocorico bee. So, it's supposed to be an Edwardian/Victorian style house. I'm not sure I captured that. I was going to use more subtle colors but the more I worked on it, the brighter it got. I like it bright. It makes me smile. I made her a window box with the text Great Washington because she is from Washington state. I made little flowers for the box using 1/4 inch hexagons and I embroidered 3

The I’s have it

In between the storms today,  I was able to work on the extra blocks that I wanted to add to the second charity Breast Cancer Quilt I am starting to assemble.  I had blank blocks added to make it to the 10 blocks by 12 layout size I wanted, but could not keep them blank.  So, off to the embroidery machine I went.  I was able to get these completed pretty quick.  They all needed to be light backgrounds to work with the layout I was thinking about.

Afghan

I haven't been doing a lot besides reading but I am slowly working on this afghan for our prayer shawl group. I got the pattern free a couple of years ago, but I can't find the website now. If you're into crochet or knitting you gotta visit the Bernat website. You have to join but it's free and they have a gazillion free patterns (at least LOL). I like Bernat cause the yarn is such a reasonable price. I'm making this shawl/afghan from one ball of yarn that cost me $8.

ANNUAL DOG WALK

Today was our local animal rescue's 7th annual dog walk. It's Sarge's biggest fund raiser of the year.

Our pooch Sooty, I'm ashamed to say, was one of the worst behaved dogs attending. She wasn't really naughty, rather it was a case of total over-excitement, causing super human power to control her on the leash.
