WIP Pile

Lots going on the last week and this one. I am getting a good amount of sewing and knitting time squeezed in though! Here's a sneaky-peek at a fun project I'm working on.

What are you working on this week?

Things I Do to Avoid Sewing the Church Quilt

As I may have mentioned (or not), two very special ladies helped me do the necessary unsewing on the church quilt so that I could really sew the top together. Theoretically that means I should be rushing to get that done so we can mark, layer and - the fun part - quilt the thing. You'd think that, right? Yeah, you'd be wrong. And I blame it on the Fat Quarter Shop. Yep, it is all the

Enjoying my Sunday

It's a beautiful day in the Yukon today.  20 Celcius, partially cloudy and just slightly breezy.  This is one of our warmest days this summer.   We've also had an awful lot of wind this summer, the kind that will blow you off the highway!

The kids are off for the next few weeks to spend time with the extended family (cousins, uncles, aunts, grandparents) back in Manitoba.  Where they tell me it's way too hot LOL...the first day they were there it was 39 Celcius.

In these diary entries, the Woodbury family has traveled back home to be together to celebrate the holidays.  Hattie's older sisters Mary (with husband Lester and daughters Helen and Ruth), Eva (with husband George and children) and Ruth have come from Washington state.  Frank is Hattie's

Making Progess on First Charity Quilt

I'm on my way with assembling the first Charity Quilt for the Ford Cares Breast Cancer Quilt.  It's just what I needed to keep my mind occupied instead of stressing over other things that you can not control.  Each year I make these, it humbles me and makes me realize although we have had our share of issue these past 3 years, we are still so blessed.

I was only going to do a couple of rows, I was curious to see how the white would turn out with the blocks.  Here's my answer.  I like it however I'm

Quilting Unplugged A.K.A. No Electric for 2 Weeks

Hi! It's me. I can finally make a post from our house. With pictures too! Although it is dial-up, I am so grateful to have internet access again. I just have to get used to how slow it is. Yikes! I hope you all have been well and I am working through e-mails, again time or should I say speed is the issue. Thank you for all of your e-mails and comments.
