WIP Wednesday Week 28 July 11, 2012

My sewing time was severely limited this week, so I just didn't get a whole lot done. I did however get a chance to work on my idea for a new Crown Royal quilt. I found the fabrics after work on Thurs. and quickly got to work making a few sample blocks. I threw them up on my design wall, over everything else to see if I liked them. I think they turned out well. I can't wait to make more! Crown Royal quilt 3

Summertime . . . . .

I'm taking a bit of a vacation, roaming around and goofing off with a friend.  Today we went to Yarmouth to see the light at Cape Forchu.

We checked out the gardens;

Full Circle Announcement

Look at those pretty circles. All sorts of Liberty goodness in my not-quite-patented process.

These are being whipped together courtesy of the new Liberty Lifestyle fabrics and my impending teaching schedule. I've got a Perfect Circles class coming up and guess where it is?

We Need A Favor

We know that Mama Said Sew hasn't even made it into stores yet (well, the pre-cuts have) and we have 2 fabric collections finished that we haven't even shown you, but we are again working on another line.   In our attempt to not be rushed and have the collection done at least a week before the deadline (never happens) we are now right in the midst of it.

It always goes like this:

A finish!

Since I work on several projects at one time, it seems to take a long time to get a finish.  But here is my Scrappy Star table runner all finished.  Handpieced, hand quilted and getting ready to be well used.  I have trouble with finishing my own UFOs but I did get this one finished, which belonged to Holly and came to me

Wool quilt kit

This is one of my favorite wall hangings, and I look at it every time I walk into my studio. I purchased this kit from Rachel T. The kit included all fabrics for the applique, background, back, and binding, batting,

Flattening A Quilt Top

see the post here

I worked on it this week and got it all set to quilt.

First I had to cut out the extra fabric.  I pinned the top to the floor and cut it corner to corner then removed all the extra.

I had planned to sew it back together so that all the strips
