Pieced Backs

I have yet to make a pieced back, other than sewing a couple of seams to make the back large enough. I can't tell you how thrilled I am that more and more extra wide fabrics are appearing on the market so that I don't have to sew backings together. Is this because I am burned out from piecing the tops? Do I hate the way pieced backs look? Am I lazy? The answer to these is no. (Okay, maybe the

It’s My Eyes That are Crossing!

Here is my July We Bee Learning Bee Block for Trina. She chose this block and asked for purple, black and white with the background being white. She lives in Canada and I'm trying to get it in the mail early this month. It seems my blocks are taking a minimum of two weeks to reach my Canadian bee mates. Next month is my month and I've been thinking of block selection and color.

Sneak peak of Amalya

On Saturday, we had the great priviledge of seeing a sneak peak of our grandson. DD#2 and her hubby were gifted with a 3D/4D ultrasound, donated by Sustaining Grace. Their mission is to “To help provide non-medical 3D and 4D ultrasounds for the parents of babies that have received a fatal diagnosis. If these parents are going to give their child every chance at life, we would like to provide them with the opportunity to watch them grow in the womb.”

Our thanks go out to

How hilarious.  I do hope these posts will encourage you to seek out some like-minded fiber lovers and plan your own play dates.

Here's more about our adventure....of

Good Sunday Morning

Blog1

At least, I think it's still morning. What a night around here! Skipper, who apparently ate something outside that he shouldn't have, had nausea problems all night. It started right about dark and continued until the wee hours of this a.m. He seems okay now, but I have cleaned up enough doggie barf to last me a lifetime.

The climax came at at 3:00 when I woke up feeling something wet on my bottom. Bless his heart, he

Scrappy Sundays – Get ‘er Done!

In a perfect world a book would get written in peace and quiet, with the work treated like it was a full-time job. In a perfect world.

In the real world a book gets written in the early morning and very late hours. Sewing happens on the dining room table while the rest of the family eats next to you. You edit manuscripts at the pool during swimming lessons. In the real world.

For Scrappy Sunday this

Uniform Randomness

I try so much to do random layouts but once I take a photo of them, I see the multiple colors not looking random enough for me :-).  There's too many darks together and too many lights together etc...   When I layout the breast cancer quilts, I do them on my floor, take a photo, rearrange and take another photo, and repeat so many times until I'm happy.

Here's what I started out with on my first breast cancer quilt layout.  I digitally added the white strips on the layout.  Of course, my photo of the layout on the
