Disassembling FMIL’s dress

I started disassembling DD#1′s future mother-in-law’s (FMIL, for short) dress today. She had such a beautiful dress, and I am so thrilled she wanted us to include portions of it.

I want to make the very best use of it with as little waste as possible, so I started by removing the lace at the waistline so I could separate the bodice from the skirt. Then I started to carefully remove the lovely, heavy lace motifs that were on the bodice. I was able to retrieve all of this lace

Pat Sloan FUN Mail Day

I LOVE LOVE LOVE a FUN mail day! The awesome people at Simplicity sent me this ruler to try a pyramid quilt. I am itching to try something new! They have a pattern using the ruler HERE And the adorable Cath Kidston package.. be still my heart! This is the BACK! and if you open it carefully you can resuse the bag .. SWEET! I opened it VERY VERY carefully as I'm known to really mess up packages.This is my first time ordering from Cath Kidston USA.. it won't be my last... great service but it did take awhile to...

Happenings at the Studio…

We have many ladies emailing to ask where they can purchase the Weeks Dye Works threads that I use in some of my patterns. Well I have good news...Emma has loaded some of the colours that I like to work with on to our online store. The threads are overdyed which gives them a really subtle blend of colours which for things lie the satin stitch flowers is really nice as it gives a soft shaded look.
