Moving right along!

Another UFO complete! This is another 10+ years old project.  Nice to have it off the UFO pile.
I used Invisifil thread (except the border..there I used Konfetti)).

I started to rearrange and tidy my quilting room and

Finally Sewing … with Electric

I'm going to sew tonight, on my machine, for the first time in 2 1/2 months. I am beyond excited and I have a million things I want to sew. I plan on catching up on my bee blocks and working on a new block I've been thinking about. I've been trying to organize my sewing "stuff". I had a nice sized sewing room before we moved. Now I'll be sewing in the dining room and I have to

Nature’s Fireworks

Thunderstorm

What an awesome night we had at The Yellow House last night. Strobe lightening, torrential rain, booming thunder. It was amazing. I slept through lots of it but was awake for some of the show. The rain and thunder continued this morning, and we were under a flash flood warning for a while. Some areas did experience flooding, but we're on a bit of a hill, so everything runs off.

The sun has just come out, so I

Settling in and Sewing!

Well, I've been in my new/old house for over a month now;  where did the time go???  All the boxes are stowed away somewhere - we won't talk about the little bedroom upstairs, slated to be a music room (and yes there is a keyboard up there somewhere - among the boxes).  My new sewing studio is wonderful;  it's so easy to be creative when the only distractions are robins and hummingbirds.  This morning I started sewing at about 7:30;  a while later I realized I was hungry - maybe because it was 1:30 and I hadn't had lunch yet.

BEYOND SAVING???

.....Soooooo, again those little resist dyed felted wool pieces I created are calling me.   I'm just crazy about playing with them.....despite the frustration I've experienced more often than not.

...and again, I forgot to take a 'before' photo.  This piece was dyed in three different dye baths after accordion folding the felted wool & securing with large rubber bands.

Quilting Quarterly

I got my Quilting Quarterly (Volume 41 Number 4) in the mail this week. It is the 2012 Show Special Edition which shows all the winning quilts from the 2012 NQA show. Wow! What beautiful quilts! If you weren’t able to attend the show and see them in person, this is the next best thing. It has detail shots of some of them, and mini profiles.

Nestled away on page 24 are the winners of the Pictorial Quilt category, including “
