New Favorite Quilt

My first medallion quilt is complete, and I think it is my new favorite quilt! Although the top has been done for weeks, I needed a block of hours to quilt it. Yesterday, I lost sleep at 4 am. Huhmm... the house is quiet, my brain is already running at 400 mpg... I might as well tackle it!

Yesterday, I told you about the book I am currently reading and mentioned that I would suggest a few more historical (loosely, in some cases) romance books for light summer reading. I'm going to start with some of my very favorites. (Once again, all links are through my Amazon.com affiliate program.)

This first author is an all time favorite of mine. My dad even enjoyed some of her books because of the humor. Technically, her books are called Regency Romances because although they take place in the past, they do not really include any famous episodes from history -

Our 1800 mile quest for a puppy!

Back in April, we lost Mac, our best friend and companion of 15 years.  Both Mr. PQ and I vowed that it would be a long time before we would entertain the thought of getting another dog.  However, even with our beloved Frankie, I never would have believed that a house could feel so empty without a dog…but it is.

Snake River Log Cabin by Claire

Wow, I just finished this wonderful quilt made by new customer Claire.  The piecing was exquisit and a total joy to quilt.  It would be interesting to know exactly how many fabrics are actually in this quilt.  The pattern is Snake River Log Cabin by Judy Martin.

I amazed myself…

After doing my morning chores, I convinced myself to load up the scrappy quilt!  Just load it, not quilt it.  At least that way it would be ready when I got in the mood.

But once I got it loaded… something I never enjoy doing, I decided to go ahead and quilt it, yay me!

I got about half way through it, and just as the row I was working on finished, I noticed that it was totally not lined up.  I have no idea how that happened, because I re-aligned after advancing the

Here I Am….
