Sketching #141

CPP Response #141: Fish

CPP Response #141: Fish

There are certain elements that I am liking in this mini series of drawings:

      • the writing paper
  • the books/journals
  • the coffee/tea cup
  • the shoes peeking from under the couch

As I said earlier, I liked doing this big group of drawings close together, because of playing with the shapes over and

Twirl!

Presenting....Twirl...well, the top anyway...
How summery and cute is this quilt?  Using a layer cake of Twirl by Me & My Sisters Designs, some Kona White and some yardage.
I can't wait to quilt this one up - some kind of twirly design of course!

I went shopping the other weekend with some quilting buddies and we stopped at one of

Kelli has a really cute etsy shop and you can check her out there.

While we're talking about the Joy Bag, let me tell you about the kit available in the Lilac Lane etsy shop. This kit contains:
Pattern

Peaches and pasta (but not together!)

I picked fifteen pounds of peaches out of our orchard this morning, and I’ve got the Mehu-Liisa loaded up again and I’m bottling peach juice.  It’s been a long day and I don’t have the energy to do anything else with the peaches, besides I love pure, organic juice!  Home bottled juice doesn’t take anything like that junk you get at the grocery store.

I like to pour the juice off as it forms, so that it doesn’t “cook” any longer than it has to.  So far I’ve bottled three jars, and will probably get

Simply Charming winner!

All of you are probably wondering IF I counted my charm packs.
Are you wondering?
Well I sort of did count.
By sort of, I mean....after I made it through what I think is all of them....
I sort of rounded...because I have a feeling I may have missed a few here and there.
okay so are you ready for this?
158
yep. sick.
I have been buying charm packs for 7 years (they are not all Moda).
I know this because I have 2 of the original Moda

DECISIONS – DECISIONS

Work on my brother's Bookworm Gardens Memorial quilt continues.  Even though I'll post one long process blog when the whole piece is finished.....here's a peak.

Perhaps you'll feel kinship with the ever present 'decision' dilemma.  What's right?  What's wrong?  Am I forcing the design just so I can move the construction process along?  We've all been there.

Dear Pioneer Woman, Part Two

Most of these questions came through email! If you have questions you’d like to submit, just email advice@thepioneerwoman.com.

I’ll feature more questions/answers from both email and Comments next week!

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone.

Dear Pioneer Woman,

I am in love with a younger man. When I met him, he was dating a younger woman. He says with me he feels like a student–that I am smarter than him and notice interesting things and love more openly than he. With the younger woman, he feels like the teacher–wiser, more worldly.

He is,

Treasure Report

Although neither one of the last two yard sales I attended was too exciting overall, I seem to have scored the one treasure that each of them had.

Sat1
Just cast your eyes on this wonderful Double Wedding Ring quilt that I found yesterday, quite by chance, at a yard sale I encountered while driving to the grocery store. It was a huge sale, just as the sign advertised, but this was absolutely the only thing there that
