The Versatile Blogger Award!

Hi everyone, I hope you are all enjoying the weekend. Oops, I just looked at the clock and  it is 4 minutes into Monday!

I haven’t been around for a few days as I’ve been so busy working but thought it only fair to break my silence to accept the Versatile Bogger Award from byhookorbypen. Thanks to both of the lovely authors for nominating my blog. They have two blogs, one features crochet and the other is devoted to the Titanic. Pop over and see them for yourselves :-)

Now I know there are some people who

Me and Jane Austen and Quilt Canada 2012

About a month ago, Heather of Books and Quilts Blog, posted about how she has made a travelling mini-quilt of Jane Austen.  Click HERE to read about how this little adventure came about. So interesting.   I offered to be the hostess of the Jane mini for a few days and show Jane what Quilt Canada 2012 in Halifax, Nova Scotia was all about.  After I am finished, the

One machine? No way!

I told Jim several people had emailed me and/or posted asking what machine I would choose from our collection to take along in the RV this time.  He wrinkled up his face, looked at me funny and said, “how is one machine going to be enough?”

And who says you can’t train an old dog?  I LOVE it! Anyone remember me trying to talk Jim into letting me put one of the sewing machine cabinets in the RV and the response was always NO!  I bet I could have two cabinets now!

We got a tenth of an inch of rain this

Soon, at the Monona Library, I am going to be running a journal making workshop for teens and adults (psst...there's still some room if you want to sign up) as part of my Fearless Crafters series.  I have professional help this time from a friend.  These are some of the journals she's made:

Beginner’s Quilt Along

I'm a self-taught quilter, and there's SO much I don't know. Soooo.....I think I'm going to join the Beginner's Quilt Along which is being hosted by Quilting Gallery & Pat Sloan!! Pretty excited to learn some tips and tricks! It starts this week so I'd better finish this big project I'm working on. Here's a sneak peek :)

Where Did That Come From?

I had a ton of errands to run yesterday: gas station, pet supply store, quilt shop (which wasn't necessary, but I had to pass right by it--you think I wasn't going to stop?), and finally to Home Depot to return the pesticide that exploded (see "When Beetles Attack" below). Well, I didn't close my eyes in time. I spotted some small nandinas that I deemed just right to plant in the back yard to discourage Skipper's infernal digging. So I got six of them. That's all they had.

Then I thought I probably needed some garden soil to fill in the
