70′s Revisited!

Hi everyone! A little nostalgia today :-)

I bought three 100g balls of wool and a crochet hook from a lovely wool shop in Melrose in the Scottish Borders last year. We were away on a camping holiday and I just fancied doing a bit of crochet again as I hadn’t done any since the 70′s when I made a couple of tank tops. My mother wouldn’t buy me tank tops but they were the height of fashion so what was a girl supposed to do?! Well, Mum was always knitting something, so I managed to blag some of her

What I made… Colour Swap 2012

My parcel arrived today in Bangkok.
Tanya from Craft Courture  was my swap partner.

One of her favourite colour combo's was aqua blue and red. So this is obviously what I decided to go with.
I decided to make Tanya a 'Sewing Class Kit'. This is something I MUST do for myself! LOL  well you know how it is.. do

Reflections



I'm feeling a bit reflective, bear with me.

Being a quilter, for me, is intrinsically tied to being a mother. Sure, I quilted before I had my first baby. It wasn't until I had The Monster, however, that I became a quilter. As I became a mother, so I became a quilter.

It wasn't a SHAZAM! kind of moment where birthing a child suddenly gave me colour clarity or sewing skills. Nor was it a direct result of sewing

Garden update

The garden is continuing to grow and look different each day as new flowers begin to bloom.  The forecast is for lots of sun and high temps for the next few days so it should be blooming even more by the Holiday weekend. (click pictures to enlarge)
