Done and Happy!

It's Done! It's Over! and I am so Happy! It turned out wonderfully. I can't believe how much I love this quilt.  All my worries and fears evaporated in the dryer.  All my awesome scraps in one place.  Not sure where it will end up, but I know it will be loved.  Can't believe I worried so much about how this quilt would turn out.. Four months

A little Gardening

The weather has been so warm the last 2 days.  Upper 80′s is high for Lansing Michigan in May!   I spent some time in the garden planting annuals, weeding and watering, so not much quilting got done.  I took a few minutes to take some pictures.  I love to compare the garden from week to week and see how fast if grows!

So here is the slide show for the week.  as always click the pictures to enlarge.

Review: Simplicity 1873 | Minty Fit & Flare!

I haven't sewn for the girls in a while... well since September.  Notice that she's no longer wearing her glasses.  She'd been begging for contacts for the longest.  And during the winter break, she got her wish.  And she's been doing great with them.
Mikaela needed a dress for this past Saturday and I'd been loving Simplicity 1873 - Cynthia

Doing my book…without it

As a regular reader of organizational blogs and student of several books on the topic- it might surprise you that I am still looking for things I have misplaced. I wanted to "do" the book of Karen Linduska. Your Machine's Decorative Stitches.

I could not find the book here at home in one of my several bookcases with quilting books. So I start with a small project working from memory. I have done a bit of crazy patchwork

My Lucky Day!

Yesterday, our local outdoor farmer’s market opened for the season.  Oh happy day!  In addition to all the regular vendors, there were a few new ones and of course I had to check them out.

One of the new stalls was filled to the brim with quality antiques and quilts.  It’s a good thing that I arrived shortly after set up because I’m sure my newest treasure would have made it home with some other appreciative customer rather than me.

An antique J & P Coats spool cabinet!

FOTY 2012 – Mid May

Fabric of the Year 2012 - Mid May

Fabric of the Year 2012 - Mid May

Many of the fabrics in this group are from the back of the Flowering Snowball. I am also diligently pressing and cutting pieces from fabrics that have been washed. The chair on which I hang just washed fabric is no longer falling over. That is a good thing.

There is some Half Moon fabric there, which I need to figure out how to
