First real quilt on the long arm

So, I got a sweet second hand long arm last week end. Hell yes!! ELEBENTY!!

This was a secret, but the recipient knows she's getting it now. So here's the pics.

The pattern is the color wheel quilt out of last minute patchwork gifts.

Design Deck Monday

Today I'm showing you what's on my deck
because it doesn't fit on my wall or cutting table.
My friend's mother gave me a generous quantity of wax print  and block printed fabrics
she picked up on her international travels.
This one on the table has four of those circles,
and it measures about four metres long.

Decolourant for dyeing fabric

Watch this movie which explains how to use decolourant.
There is a wonderful product called Decolourant which is wonderful for dyeing fabrics - it actually takes colour out of fabric, rather like bleach, but without the harmful chemicals.
Give it a try as you can get some wonderful  results.

A fun weekend…

My weekend consisted of Ikea, California Closets,  Quilting, Wine, Books,  Bark Mulch and Power Washing.

Blend Fabrics July 2012

I’m looking forward to seeing what Blend Fabrics has to offer for its sophomore effort. By the looks of these two collections, set to be in stores in July, it’s going to be great. Hope Chest is by Josephine Kimberling, and features her always fashion-forward florals (including a cross stitch floral), this time paired with this creative take on the stripe, amongst other beautiful, lush coordinates.
