And The Winner Is…

I must admit my photography skills are not the best.  Regardless, I hope you are able to enjoy a few photos of the winners from the Miami Valley Quilt Guild Show from last weekend.  These are not all of the winners, just the ones I was able to get through the crowds to see.  Nothing can replace seeing these works of art in person, however.  Just remarkable.

This first one was part of a Joann's challenge.  Beautiful to look at, but the quilt maker said the fabric was not fun

The Patterns…

for Mama Said Sew are finished.  Almost.  At least the covers are finished.  Here they are.

Mama's China

The fun thing about this pattern is that you can make all 3 quilts (one red, one black and one grey) using one Jelly Roll.

TODAY’S TIP

Well.....I decided the rusted/deconstructed top was complete....

.....so......I hand basted a backing in preparation to machine stitch around the blocks and perhaps (yet again) try my hand at some simple machine quilting in the surrounding rusted 'burlappy' material.

Drat......the problems I had the last time I worked with rusted fabric totally slipped my mind.  What problems

Almost finished

It took me more than 4 days  to rip out the stitches in the 4 corners.

The new stitching looks better. And it is almost done!

62//2012

My new wall diary: sticky blackboard squares.  Love it.

(and yes it would have been better laying them out in rows of 7 (I'm aware of how long a week is... you know!) but there was no room for that.  So we all have to think very carefully about what day is it.

It's good mental exercise.

Mr M shook his head in disgust.

I think it's fab.  And I love chalk, it reminds me of school!

Craptastic photo I apologise...

(but it's dark and wet and cold and IT DOES NOT FEEL LIKE
