NORTH CAROLINA ARBORETUM – PTA EXHIBIT

We are so fortunate to have such a great working relationship between the Asheville Quilt Guild and the North Carolina Arboretum.  They provide gallery space all year long, in two month stints, for single members or small groups that belong to our guild.

The last two days I've made the trek to Asheville to hang quilts made by members of the fiber group I belong to - PTA - Professional Textile Artists.

Antique Angel…

The room is ready, the goody bags are waiting on the tables and outside the door there is an excitied buzz coming from the ladies who are joining me for this workshop. We did have a slight technical hitch the Garden Gnome Needlebook that was our project for the day got left in the store in Amsterdam so the ladies had a bit of a mystery workshop!

Blue and White Hunter’s Star quilt top

I love 2 color quilts.  recently I purchased top in the hunter’s star pattern

This one is not an antique but it does have an antique look (at least to me)  It is machine stitched and all the point line up pretty well.  It could be a little flatter but I can “quilt out” the unevenness on this one because it is not bad.

Winter Wonderland Quilt by susanstreasures

Cotton quilt sewn in a log cabin pattern depicting snow scenes bordered by assorted snowflake fabrics. Outer border features snowboarders on a royal blue background. Reverse side is a one piece darker night shade blue with an all over star pattern. Inside batting is a dense bamboo/cotton batting. Quilting was done by machine in the stitch in a ditch pattern.

Perfect gift for the outdoor enthusiast. Would look great in a mountain home setting.
