Oh cool! I looked at the first picture and though…

Oh cool! I looked at the first picture and thought these must be super hard, but when I read it, it's not so hard at all. I want to try some

Doing What Sisters Do

I’m with my sister having sister time and eating the things sisters eat, which in our case is:

Sushi
Macarons
Quesadillas
Chocolate
Diet Cokes
Diet Dr Pepper
Soup
Lemon Meringue Pie
Salad
Wine
Coffee

And doing the things sisters do, which in our case is:

Get our toenails painted
Watch Bravo
Giggle
Laugh
Snort
Watch Bravo
Giggle
Laugh
Snort
Watch Bravo

And talking about the things sisters talk about, which in our case is our kids.

How big her boy has gotten

Tropical flowers and pyramids

I teach a floral design class on Wednesday nights.  I usually don’t remember to take a picture of the designs we make, and I never bring the flowers home but last night we worked with tropical flowers and I had to bring the design home.

The design is made with Bird of Paradise, Pink Mink Protea, Leucadendron and Gerbera (not gerber..that is baby food..correct name is Gerbera)

It was fun to make and the students did a great job!…I must remember to take my camera to class each week to

3KCBWDAY4 – A Knitter or Crocheter For All Seasons?

"3KCBWDAY4 - A Knitter or Crocheter For All Seasons?
As spring is in the air in the northern hemisphere and those in the southern hemisphere start setting their sights for the arrival of winter, a lot of crocheters and knitters find that their crafting changes along with their wardrobe. Have a look through your finished projects and explain the seasonality of your craft to your readers. Do you make warm woollens the whole year through in preparation for the colder months, or do you

Bye bye backyard!

It seems like our place is always a mess, because it’s always under construction.  I probably wouldn’t have it any other way, or I’d be bored and it would be time to move.  Of course, I am ready to move, as I’d much rather be doing all these projects up on the farm instead of down here at the house, but all things in time.

So… we built the shop here two years ago I think?  We never have finished the driveway, because I needed to tear down the privacy fence first.  I tackled that last fall… for the most part,

Meet Shirley

I've had a busy week working in the garden between rain drops. I didn't get much quilting done as I suspected. My people had  few dr. appointments. I did a lecture for the Oconomowoc quilt guild. It was a small group but very supportive of another Thirtysomething book. In fact supportive of all my books. Thanks again ladies.

I brought this top home from church last week and hope to get it quilted soon. The blocks are from  Judy Martin's book, Knockout

FIBER JUNKIES PAINTING FUN

What fun!  The Fiber Junkies have spent several months experimenting with fabric paints.  In part, that got our members focused on just how much paint they've accumulated and the realization that it should be used up.

So, for our meeting this month we came up with the idea of thinning the paint enough to allow it to be sprayed....thus we could transform fabrics we owned to

Quilting is done!

Surrender by Maria ElkinsHooray!!! I’ve finished all the quilting, and we’ve celebrated with Dairy Queen! Now I just need to label it, sleeve it, photograph it, document it…what else? I’m afraid all that is going to have to wait a bit since I have two other deadlines to work on first. BUT, I did finish it in time to send an entry form for June’s NQA show. This is a non-juried show that accepts the first 400 entries, and the “received by” deadline is April 30.
