Dollhouse Addition

Bench

Look what sister Joanne gave me for the Little Yellow Dollhouse. Ramey came over last night for our weekly get-to-gether to watch "Justified," and she brought this little bench and watering can that Joanne had sent me. They're just the perfect size.

Ramey also brought me CDs for Season One of "Downton Abbey." I've heard so much talk about that show, so I've decided to see if it's as good as everyone says. I'll start watching

WIP Wednesday 2/22/12

This week's WIP list is short. I think that's a good thing because of the mental spanking I put on myself after I listed all of my WIPs the last time I linked up with WIP Wednesday. I thank all of you who commented and let me know I am not alone in having that many WIPs. I did work on a few of them. But I also started a new one. This one is not a big

MID-ATLANTIC QUILT FESTIVAL

I haven't attended a large quilt conference for probably 20 years without being on the faculty.....so it will be a totally different experience for me these next few days to be a spectator at the Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival in Hampton, VA.

Several of us PTA members are making the trek (one of the small fiber groups I belong to).  Our excuse is to see our exhibit "Inspired By" (our 2011 PTA Challenge)

John Lewis: Spheres

I was looking over the latest fabric offerings at John Lewis, which I gather is like a slightly more upscale Target in the U.K. (If Target sold fabric, that could be dangerous.) Spheres, from John Lewis’ exclusive in-house collection, is a 52% linen, 48% cotton blend, 62.5cm wide (24 inches — narrow!).

Life is Beautiful

I finally finished stitching all the blocks for the Life is Beautiful Block of the Month (BOM) I did with Valerie over at Pastimes Online.  I was keeping up every month pretty good, until school started in September and then I fell horribly behind and it has taken me until now to catch up.  I still haven’t completed assembling the blocks, but the stitching part is DONE!

I’ve really enjoyed stitching these blocks.  They are pretty simple and straight forward to stitch.  I enjoyed stitching it in ONE color and

What is the Muslin For?

Rather boring picture, I know. But I’m finally going to make a new ironing board cover. I’ve been threatening to do this for next to forever and have found a couple of tutorials online that seem pretty straightforward so today’s experiment shall be making myself a clean new ironing board cover. My old one is so far beyond the pale I wouldn’t even dream of taking a picture of it.

For a fleeting moment or two I thought about dressing up the ironing board and using a pretty print fabric but,
