Last month, our good friend told us she had just been diagnosed with breast cancer. It's one thing to talk about cancer in a generalized way but I know and love Marla - she's not an abstract statistic. What do you do when your friend has cancer - other than utter the usual words of support and encouragement? It's a very helpless place to be in.

Sixteen reasons to be looking forward to the new year!

Back in 2008 when I went to Houston for the very first time I fell in love with this machine ..... unfortunately at that time it wasn't available in Australia so I chose the Bernina 820 instead ... which wasn't a hardship! After my last visit to Houston in October I was reminded over and over again of how much I loved the Sweet Sixteen ...

Curly Q Pantograph


This lovely quilt is from my friend and customer JoAnn and her quilts are always such a joy to work on.  Just coming off of  a couple of large custom quilts and it has been so refreshing and really enjoyable to do a pantograph.  This one is called "Curly Q" by Lisa Calle. I used 100% cotton variegated thread (Tutti) by Wonderfil.

SSCS

I felt very spoiled this year with my gifts for Choockyblue SSCS. I received this wonderful wall hanging (or table runner) from Shari. It really is the perfect quilt for me, The thing I miss most about not living in Australia (other than my family) is the ocean. I love all the details in this quilt. For better photos visit Shari post here. I think I am going to use it as a wall hanging so I see it more often, I just need to find the perfect spot for it. I live the look of the
