WIP Wednesday

I barely stitched at all this week because I was busy resting on my laurels for finishing the Rainbow I Spy. That seems to happen to me a lot - taking time off after a big finish.

Made Progress

I was also procrastinating on sewing together the 81 squares (but who's counting?) of my final Habitat pillow cover. But tackle it I did, and it came together quite quickly and easily (the common hallmark of jobs one is avoiding for fear of their being too hard). So easily, in fact, that I didn't have to use a single

Binding

I am in the binding stage.
It's already pieced. I made even a hanging sleeve.
Now to sew them.

Thank you for your latest comments. I am glad you like what you see. Yes, this is the back. The front is colorful.

Some of you asked about the machine I used. This one.

Working on  this quilt I learned what patience means. Music helped me a lot!

WIP Wednesday + Bonus Tip

Woo hoo! So happy to have a finish this week.

Finished

Rainbow I Spy for my little girl, who loves it so much that I haven't been able to get it off her bed in order to get the label sewn on!

Bonus tip: I have been using fusible thread to fuse my binding prior to stitching it down (by hand or by machine), following this tutorial. With the I Spy quilt, I was really lazy eager

WIP Wednesday: Just Three Report

I swear I sewed this month! But I feel like I have precious little to show for it. Strange.

Anyhoodle, I did manage to make great progress on this WIP:

I Spy Quilt Top

It's backed, basted, quilted and trimmed! All that's left is to bind it. Here's a sneak peek:

Full reveal is coming soon. Just needs binding and crinkling.

No progress was

WIP Wednesday

I found it really difficult to find my sewing groove over the last little bit. I was productive in other ways, though - I culled my stash again and sold another lot of fabric on Craigslist. It feels good to give my precioussssessss some breathing space in ye olde bookcase/fabric storage area. Also nice: cash in my wallet.

But it is terrifying to know that culling 60 metres (!!!) of fabric has made only a minor dent in my inventory. Sick-making, actually.

Anyway, on to more uplifting topics - what I sewed this week.

WIP Wednesday: You can help

I've been "Swooning" again. But that's not what I need your help with. Not fabric choice decision, not setting decision.

No, my first WIP involves gathering comments on a blog post. For a good cause.

If you have already read these two posts, you might be rolling your eyes and thinking "not again...." But I hope that is not what you are thinking. Yes, the Colorbox quilt sold for a shocking amount of money, all going to charity. And yes, Mark and I are donating $1 for each comment left on this post. At this

WIP

I tried something and I am disappointed. I would have needed 4 polka dot fabrics. And I would have made 2 baby quilts at once.
I have to come up with something else in the next 10 minutes!

The rainbow quilt is quilted, I have to wash it.

Wishing you a great weekend,
Geta

Yester-Year WIP Challenge

OK, who's up for a challenge? Christine over at Quilt Monster in my Closet is hosting a Yester-Year WIP Challenge on the 5th of each month. For my non-sewing friends reading this, a WIP is a Work In Progress :) SO looking forward to working on a very intimidating applique project that I just threw in the drawer, not knowing if I'd ever finish it.
