Q2 FAL: Official Goal List

In my Q1 Finish A Long wrap up, I identified some UFOs that I wanted to finish in Q2 but I need a new official Goal List to link for the next quarter, so here we go!

By June 30, I will be finished:

1. Dad's placemats. I've made some progress since my last photo but here it is again:

Thimbleberries!

2. Easy Going Modern: The Pattern. There has been progress, but it's a bit hard to show! How about

International Quilting Day

Here is how I am spending the International Quilting Day - stitching with 2 of my non-quilter sisters.
In about 2 weeks I think we will show you the top of our group quilt.

Geta, Oana and Nina; and the third black cat of the house.
My sisters call me "the boss"  of this project.  And as the boss I am allowed to stitch more and stitch the hardest parts. I

I am determined to finish the 96''x96''  monster today!

I receive  often messages  from my newsletter subscribers that you would like to know how to use the free designs I send you monthly.
So I chose a design and for the next 5 weeks, on Friday, I will show you some ideas.  5 ideas - 5 tutorials!

Now to finish the monster!

WIP Wednesday

I am working on 2 bags; both are quilted, one on batting and one on Timtex;
I am taking pictures and I will write soon an interfacing guide for bag making; I made lots of bags lately and I learned a lot.

Do you remember this soft and cozy comforter I made for my little nephew Alex ?

WIP Wednesday

Happy Wednesday!

Let's get to it, shall we? First up, we've got my new pencil skirt.

The pattern I used is McCall's 3830, "Quick & Easy." And it definitely was quick and easy. Even the zipper was easy to install. I chose to make it out of some stretch cotton I had around, and the result is a skirt that's super comfy. I love it! Next time (there will be a

WIP Wednesday

Welp, my two quilts are packed up and on their way to Austin for the QuiltCon Quilt Show. Fingers crossed that they arrive in time!

With all the labeling and hanging sleeve-attaching going on, I haven't done much other stitching since the baby quilt finish of last week.

I did finally finish the appliance covers for my friend, and they're on their way to Texas as well, coincidentally. Here is the second cover, awaiting the final bit of binding to be hand sewn down:

WIP Wednesday/November Just Three

Happy Wednesday! I haven't been able to get to much stitching done in the last while but I do want to do a little recap of what I've been up to.

Since my last WIP recap, ...

I participated in the VMQG Kona Modern Quilts challenge. I got a FQ of one of Cynthia's prints in the Pacific colourway and made another pin cushion/thread catcher using Elizabeth Hartman's tutorial from Sew, Mama, Sew.

What am I working on Wednesday? Week 48 – 11.28.12

This has been a very busy week, but even with all I have had to get done, I've accomplished quite a bit of sewing and quilting. I did a lot of procrastinating, since  have 4 long papers due this weekend. Last week I worked on two pieces for a Christmas swap. I got them pieced on Turkey day and on Monday night, so they were both ready to be quilted. I loaded this one on Mon. night and quilted it on Tues. night. I quilted the other one as

WIP Wednesday, Recovery Edition

Folks, the retreat was a total blast. TOTAL blast. Kristie-OCD has some great recap posts going on her blog - check them out! I'll have a few words to share later in the week, but here's a hint as to the late night shenanigans that we got up to:

Top row: Sindy, Krista (K2)
Bottom row: me, Kristie (K3.5), Krista (K1)

But it wasn't all shoe shopping and human pyramids! I got lots of stitching done, most of
