Paper Piecing 101 Workshop!

Hey everyone!

Just popping in to let you know about the workshop I’m teaching for the Fraser Valley Modern Quilt Guild on Saturday, October 6, 2012.

It’s for sewists and quilters who have never really gotten the hang of paper piecing (aka foundation piecing) and would love to learn. I will also be showing all of my advanced piecing tips and tricks for those who could use a technique refresher.

It’s time for another rendition of  Acquisitions and Takeovers..

Camo Quilt – Eco Messenger Bag

This bag is a great way to show your support for our troops while doing your part for the environment. WIN/WIN.  The messenger bag measures 13″ x 13″ x 4″ and has an adjustable nylon strap.  The bag has one large pocket on the front (under the messenger flap) and Velcro(R) strips along the entire front for a secure closure. Squaring the bottom of a bag

Squaring the bottom of a handbag or tote is easy to do. Here are two simple ways.

I like this first way, don't know why, they are both easy. But this is the way I tend to do it.

Put your fabrics right sides together. Pin and sew a 1/4" (or 1/2") on both sides and the bottom.


Cut out a square on both bottom corners. For smaller bags I cut a 2" square, for larger ones a 3".
