Thousand Pyramids Antique Quilt Top

Will I ever stop buying antique quilt tops?  I will let you know if I do but for now here is another that arrived today.

I have always wanted one in this pattern and I love the 1900 fabrics.  The few reds mixed in with all the other rather muted fabrics adds a lot of interest  and movement.

The next Winter Games will be held in Sochi, Russia in 2014.  Since we love the Olympics and we love quilting, we are excited about the theme, which is based on the patchwork quilt! The quilt includes 16 designs representing the most famous traditional Russian arts and crafts: Uftyuzhskaya painting, Vologda lace, Gzhel and Zhostovo painting, Kubachi patterns, Pavlov Posad shawls, Mezenskaya painting and Khokhloma, Yakutsk patterns and Ivanovo chintz*.
