Table topper

Hmmm... Winter is just around the corner, yet I still favor my spring quilts!

My husband asked me why I haven't displayed this one at home yet... so I guess it will make its way to our dining room table soon.

I fussy cut the butterfly wings and appliqued them on each corner, as flower petals. So cheerful!

Teach a Girl to Make a Bag…

Teach a girl to make a bag, then get out of the way! There will be embellishing & variations & ideas galore!

Bags are the big deal at Calico Mermaid this spring.

Zing is here!

I got the pinwheels out again yesterday and do you know what?………when they were all laid out separately, I thought they looked a bit washed out, bland and faded :-(

Celebrating the last holiday

Spring is my favorite season. Best weather, prettiest colors, full of hope and renewal.
Germany enhances spring by having the most holidays during this season. What with Easter being so late this year, we've had very few weeks recently without a day off.
Today is Fronleichnam*, and it's our last holiday before a LONG stretch without a public holiday. I intend to enjoy this day to it's fullest.
          * Don't ask me what Fronleichnam is. No one has yet been able to explain it to me.

Anyway, since I've got busy days on Friday, Saturday and Sunday

Desperately Seeking Spring!

I haven't posted in a while . . . . because there's nothing interesting to report!  It's been snowing, and snowing, and snowing, and I've been shovelling, and shovelling - well, you get the picture.  It's never enough snow to warrant hauling out the snowblower, but enough that it's a mess if you don't get rid of it.  Now, tonight, for a change we have rain, complete with heavy rain warnings, and something called a "Flash Freeze Warning";  apparently the temperature is supposed to drop drastically over night, and make all those puddles into skating rinks!  Police are advising everyone to
