Small Business Saturday and a sneak peak

I know Black Friday is over already but Fat Quarter Shop still has their amazing sale going on through Thursday! And it IS Small Business Saturday so FQS would be a great place to spend and save at the same time!

I actually stayed home most of the day yesterday. I ventured out at 5:30 a.m. to take Mark and Aaron to the airport so they could go to a Texas A&M game with my brother and niece.

Pat Sloan On the Boulevard Giveaway

When the team at the Fat Quarter shop sent me a note and asked if I'd like to see their first book and join them on a blog hop, I was pretty darn excited! I know that so many of us... ummm... many of you are Fat Quarter Queens.. and who better than the whole STORE named Fat Quarters to show you some spectacular quilts to use them in! I selected "Boulevard" to a make in my Moda fabric "Eat Your Fruits n' Veggies". Which by the way is JUST COMING TO STORES near you! (see my whole line HERE)...

See You Next Week!

I am getting my quilt market schedule and assignments ready for my six-count-’em-six gracious assistants, so I will have to bow out of posting this week. Do follow me on Facebook and Twitter for live-from-Houston Quilt Market updates Friday-Monday, and we’ll get posting with the usual in-depth coverage starting Tuesday. Sew Mama Sew posts a peek at Denyse Schmidt’s next Freespirit collection on their Facebook page.

Djerba Goldfinger of Reprodepot will have a fabric collection with Spotlight in Australia. Aww man, what about us?!? I will have to set up a

Ridiculous Fabric Purchases

Okay, I know that ridiculous is in the eye of the beholder (or spouse of the purchaser), but I do seem to be a bit out of hand recently. I blame it all on the Quilter's Newsletter Christmas issue! Huh? As I looked through the Christmas issue, I saw a quilt I wanted to make. It was made with panels of Stonehenge's Christmas fabric and the pattern said that there was a kit available at the Fat

A Little Progress on Something

I am such a slacker lately! Grr! I need to get back to some productivity here! And some blogging! So to start with here is a short post. Remember back a ways when I changed my rules about completing the 2011 Designer Mystery BOM before even starting the 2012 because I was seduced by fabric? (That post is here if you are interested or have forgotten.) Well, I haven't made much progress for

Yes, It Has Been Awhile

Yes, blogging was interrupted by the whole quilt sweatshop thing I had going on here for a while. Yep, 8-10 hours a day paper piecing, stopping only to eat. But I did finish the top, got it to the longarmer, and got it back in plenty of time to bind it and wrap it up for this coming Friday's wedding. I'll post a picture once the gift has been given. Later this week, I hope.

But I can do a little bit of ruminating on a few aspects of the experience. First, the paper piecing. I don't ever plan
