City Collection From The City Quilter

stack

The City Quilter has expanded their exclusive collection of New York-themed fabrics. Subway Dots is the newest print, available in black- and white-ground quilting cottons and a laminated cotton. Suzy’s New York, by Suzy Pilgrim, came out last year and is also in laminated and regular versions. The details in this one are really great! The New York Subway print, based on the real map but with creative license for repetition purposes, is also back in laminate. They are available in the NYC store and online.

More Dear Stella Fall 2012

{ Portico }

One of the many interesting things Dear Stella is doing is translating interior design motifs and sensibilities into the quilting/lifestyle fabric domain. These two collections underline this idea — Portico (above), a modern yet soft black-and-tan floral-based collection, and Kallianthi, inspired by ikat and block prints. The latter will have a set of home decor sateens — how’s about that for full circle?

Dear Stella Fall 2012

{ Hedgehogs }

Dear Stella is rolling out an exciting new season of fabric collections. These novelty collections are arriving in stores this month in advance of Quilt Market. Playdate is their ongoing kids’ collection, and these new additions include cute hedgehogs, transport, and dress-up themes with a charming hand-drawn touch, and as always, versatile coordinates that will go with anything.

Kaffe Fassett Fall 2012

{ Prints from Kaffe Fassett Fall 2012, plus coordinating solids, image courtesy Pink Chalk Fabrics }

Who else has been feeling jade/emerald lately? The jade in Kaffe Fassett’s Fall 2012 collection is simply bioluminescent. Love it. The new patterns are the Jupiter Stripe (which also reminds me of geodes), Oriental Trees, Chard, Peking, and Camellia – follow the links to the Westminster/Rowan site to see all the colorways. There are also new colorways of earlier prints.

Pink Chalk Fabrics is feeling the blue/jade —

Suzy Ultman: Handle With Care

I love everything Suzy Ultman does — her latest for Robert Kaufman might be summed up as “airmail and friends.” It comes in a bright and more muted “Garden” palette. This stack photo is courtesy Fabricworm, who has the whole collection.

Tas-ka New Collection

Dutch label Tas-ka has a new collection of fabrics and textile products called Schemer, Lommer, Dageraad, inspired by “the elusiveness of what happens in the early morning and evening, with the clear colours of the rising and setting sun and the darkness of the night.” The six prints are each printed on a 4 oz/sq yard (140 g/meter) cotton and a 6oz/sq yard (210 g/meter) cotton for different applications. They are now available in the Tas-ka web shop and it does look like they ship internationally.

Preview: Tsuru and MicroMod from Cloud9

I can hardly believe it, but it’s already getting to that time where companies are rolling out their previews of their collections debuting at Fall Quilt Market. We have already learned that the ever-growing Cloud9 Fabrics has brought Rashida Coleman-Hale, Rob Bancroft, Eleanor Grosch, Steffie Brocoli, and Lisa Congdon onto their designer roster for Fall 2012-Spring 2013. As of now we have previews of two of the fall collections: Rashida Coleman-Hale’s cute/beautiful (cute-iful?), Japanese-inspired Tsuru and Rob Bancroft’s MicroMod — masculine, friendly, midcentury-inspired

Art Gallery Fabrics: New Designers

{ Bari J.’s Lillybelle, Cool Sunrise colorway }

When it was announced that Bari J. would be Art Gallery Fabrics’ first licensed designer, I knew that signaled a huge sea change for the company. I didn’t realize that the shift would be happening so quickly, though, did you? Of course Art Gallery is anything but timid so their recent announcement of two more new designers shouldn’t come as a surprise.
