Pat Sloan: MASSIVE Show and Tell

My friend Amy from "Amy's Creative Side" is running Blogger's Quilt Festival and today is the day to link up! I am hosting one of the giveaway slots.. yeah baby!

Amy started this event so that people not going to the trade show would 'celebrate' the twice a year 'Quilt Market' when all the people in the quilt industry are at the trade show with their 'new' things!

Pat Sloan: Two ways to get Stitched, maybe more!

I had this dropped 9-patch idea in my head for a LONG time. When I got ready to work on the layout I was shooting ideas around, doing sketches, and finally the ideal.. SIMPLE way to make this came about! I was SO EXCITED! My friends Sue and Monica pieced the tops and tested the pattern.. they gave it the SEAL of Approval... exciting! The pattern will be available in early July

Red and White Applique Blocks

Today I got a group of antique quilt blocks from eBay.  It is difficult to date the blocks because the fabric is  solid red and white.  Printed fabrics are much easier to date based on the design.  These I will just call old.

The blocks are not completed.  The pieces were cut out and basted to the squares, but I will need to do the applique.  You may remember that I hate to applique….but I could not resist these blocks!

One of the blocks has the applique started.

It's count down to Market time... I have 4 new patterns, at least 2 quilts from each, other projects made with "Bobbins and Bits" and a few other quilts going to market with me NEXT Wed!  I will be carrying as much on the plane as humanly possible, then checking the rest. We have a direct flight.. I may ask to escort my bags to the cargo hold.. do you think they will let me?

So first let me who you one of the last quilts I have to bind.. NOT the last.. but ONE of the last.. wink!

Bees, Fast Women, Hulala and a Surfeit of Monkeys

I haven’t posted for a while as I have been otherwise engaged moving house and decorating . Not that I personally have moved house but it amounts to the same thing timewise. Then I started on the Spring cleaning. I say started as although I managed to finish the kitchen the whole process ground to a halt somewhere between the living room and the bedrooms. After that I wasn’t motivated to do anything. However I think I may be back on track at least with the embroidery machine. Hopefully the next stage will be finished quilts.

I received some new
