Kiss Me, I’m Irish Embroidery File

I completed a few more prototypes for my embroidery file that I used for my mug rug instructions.   I finally gave up on the lip liner for my embroidered lips.  I just could not get it on straight.  However, I did get the letters to stitch out sooo much better.  My second try, they stitched out so well, it took an hour to stitch out the design.  LOL

So, here is the 3rd stitch out.  Only took 30 minutes.  I only tested it out on the .jef file format.  I have included several different file types in

Irish Mug Rug Prototype Completed

I embroidered my digital design today and created a Mug Rug for my coffee.  The size of the embroidery file was 5" wide by 4" tall.  I ended up making the size of the mug rug to be 6" wide by 5" tall.  At first I thought the size would be too big, but now I love it.  I don't have to be soo careful with my cup of coffee to make sure it is on the rug.

I will share the file

Mug Rug Pursuit

While I'm busy slowly sewing my strip quilt blocks.  I needed to start another project.  What can I say, nothing keeps my attention for long :-)  So, I decided I'm going to make a Mug Rug.  My goal is to make a design I can use for the end of February and beginning of March so It's going to be a green mug rug.  You never know, I might make this a series.

I'm going to try two different designs.  One will be a shamrock and the other will have embroidery on it.  I'm in the design / development

Corny Cut Up Card

My ideas finally came together for this years Valentines Day card.  I need to add a little more in bling bling and ribbon on the edges and I'll be close to done.  Today I really went old school with glue and scissors.  I decided to make my message out of all the fonts in the sales papers today.  Here's where it ended up.  It was so refreshing to just relax and return to the basic items.

and for the inside, here's what

Working on the Valentines Day Card

I've been trying to determine what I'm going to do with my Valentines Day card this year for the hubby.  It's the only thing we do, exchange cards.  He gets off easy and never needs to find me that "right" gift.  Only a card and I'm happy!  This year, I'm leaning towards adding origami hearts to my card.  I've been obsessed with making them lately.

Here is where you can find some great instructions on how to make these.  I've

KCup Storage – Second Idea

My second KCUP storage idea came in yesterday and I love it!  I bought it from Avon and it is an Easter Egg holder.  It won't be available until Campaign 6 which is the next book.  If you have an Avon Lady, check with them, if not, let me know and I can instruct you how to have one shipped to you.

I just changed the way the pieces went together to raise the bottom

Keurig Storage

I finally jumped on the Keurig bandwagon about a month or two ago.  I scour the sites looking for bargains on the KCups and have been able to find two good deals in the past were the KCups ended up being 26-30 cents a piece for different varieties.  I keep looking for more in the future.  I thought I would not use this machine that much but it has become my brewer of choice.

The other thing I kept

Out Walking

With the beautiful January weather we have been having in the Central PA area, it's given us a chance to get the dogs out for a walk.  This means that Miss Mandy was able to walk using her new harness.  She did fantastic with it.  However, she is not a big fan of the Velcro ripping sound under her belly. She is getting better but not her favorite sound.   Also, I was nervous about the Velcro letting go.  I'm sure that would not happen with such a little dog but you never know.  I snapped a quick photo of

String Quilt – 33 Blocks to Go

Yesterday I spent a little bit of time trimming all the newly completed string quilt blocks I had completed.  I then threw them together rather quickly with the others to see how many more I have left to do.  If I want to make the 8 blocks by 10 blocks size I want, I have 33 blocks to go.  I think if I ever complete another string quilt, it definitely will not be as small of strips as those I have been using.  I will also not use as small of blocks (6.5" blocks) as I have been using.  But,

Mandy’s New Walking Coat

Recently, I purchased two of those dog harnesses that you see on TV.  I found them very cheap and thought they would work well for our two yorkies.  I purchased two extra small harnesses.  I have one 10.5 pound yorkie and one 6.5 pound yorkie.  Our dogs are not the usual yorkie size.  They are both very long.  Well, the xsmall harnesses were very big on both dogs.   I was able to adapt one of the harnesses to fit our larger yorkie.  I kept saying I could make a harness for our smaller yorkie.  Well, I finally made one.
