Folk Tale Paths – your chance to win

After making the scrappy trip-a-long at the beginning of the year I made a promise to myself to sew more things just for fun, things for me, things for the family.

These last few weeks I have been cutting and stitching away here and there - mostly there in the late, late night, when the house is quiet and I have a moment to make a strong cup of tea, breathe, then sit and sew.

The pattern I decided on was a must for me, it's called Folk Tale Paths and designed by Emma from Ballarat Patchwork. She designed this

Oh Deer… Imagine Gnats

Ask me what the best part of designing fabric is and I would answer simply.

There is no better moment than seeing a creation made with my fabrics, those designs that began as simple sketches in my home studio.

One morning this week while getting the little ones breakfast I checked my Instagram feed and found a message, a tag for @cinderberries on a delicious photo from the other side of the world, I'm not kidding - it made me happy for the rest of the day.

A bundle on the door step

This lovely bundle arrived on my door step a few weeks ago, pretty isn't it?

I am sure you have guessed, it's the new Flower Sugar fabric due to arrive in stores around August.  The prints are bright and beautiful - and don't even get me started on the gingham.......it's gobsmakingly gorgeous.

Flower Sugar

I decided to use some of these gorgeous cottons to make something for fun, for a girl who likes swirly skirts, flowers and the colour pink.  It also gave me the perfect opportunity to play

Fabrics have been hand selected (by me) from the Woodland fabric collection in my studio and may differ from the original quilt pictured, please refer to quilt kit packaging (image below) for actual fabrics.

4yrs times ten

And so on the last day of April it was the 4th anniversary of my 10th Birthday.

I decided to try and scoot under the radar sneak past so people didn't notice...by the end of the week I had gone out for lunch three times, dinner once and blew out the candles on three separate (amazing) cakes.

To the moon and back

And among all that celebrating a new Bernina 800DL overlocker arrived in my sewing space, it's better than awesome - I love the new beast.

So

6 months

Yep, this little guy is six months old today.

He is getting bigger, smiles at everything and is very ticklish.

Darcy 6months

He laughs a lot and sleeps well.

We love him more everyday (is that is even possible?)

Darcy 6months 2

The biggest laughs are saved for his Sister, she is pretty proud of that.

Her nickname for him is Booboo or sometimes Googoo.
