JSS Retreat!

I’m sewing.  I know that’s an unusual event for this blog these days.  But I’m at Retreat!  And sewing is a must.

Apparently this year, blogging is taking second fiddle to actual quilting.  Because I left my laptop at home.  Horrors!  But I do have my new tablet along that Dear Hubby gave me for Christmas.  Have I mentioned that there’s a big learning curve for a person of my age when you get new technology?  And who has time to learn a whole new photo editor anyway?  Not this gal.  And certainly not while actually at my quilting retreat.  Hopefully I can figure out

Sadie

We have been dog-sitting for the past 4 days.

Sadie (7)

Meet Sadie.  She’s a long-haired chihuahua.  I know, I know.  We are a cat family.  But sometimes it’s OK for the cats to have a dog around.  It gets their hissing throats cleared out.

???????

Sadie made herself at home the first evening here.

???????

And she has tried out every favorite cat napping spot.  I think she is part cat!  She sleeps on the quilts on the back of the

Inklingo 101

I considered titling this post Inklingo for Dummies. But I don’t really like what that implies. I actually think it’s more like Inklingo for Intellectuals. Because Inklingo is so crazy easy that it’s the intellectuals that try to think it to death who take awhile to get it.

My friend, Linda, who is the genius behind Inklingo is doing lessons on the Inklingo blog. They just started today so you can jump right in on the ground floor. Sort of a reverse mystery because you know what the end result will look like.

Remember

Vegan Hummus Pizza & Ginger Ale

This is my new favorite lunch. And since I’d posted the breakfast that is my fave a while ago, I thought you might now be ready for lunch. I also haven’t done food for quite some time. And I figured Lani was anxiously awaiting some more recipes, right Lani? Not. She gave me a hard time before about too much food. So lately she must be pretty happy with the blog. Well, when I’m actually posting, that is.

Just in case you don’t have a church home and/or would love to hear a great Easter Sunday message, here’s the link to my Pastor’s sermon from the service on 3/31/13.

I Need More Hours in My Days….

Anyone got some they can spare?  No?  I should have known.

I had such high hopes.  Keeping up with the Inklingo Case of the Secret Garden Mystery.  Ha! Who am I kidding.

I had planned to show you all the steps along the way.  Starting with the fabric choices that you saw when it first started 7 short (long?) weeks ago.

I Love a Mystery

Such nice fabrics.  Such promise of keeping up.

And then I wrote in this post, where #4 in my list showed my progress.  And also

A Welcome Sight

image

Almost home. Many adventures to share soon!

Wonder if Boo and Panda will recognize me? Wonder how Panda will respond to Dear Hubby? Wonder how crowded it will feel tonight after being spoiled with king-sized beds for a week and now cramming two adults and two cats into a queen-size?

These and many more questions to soon be answered. Good to be (almost) home again.

Hugs,

Barb

Mystery on the Go

Dear Hubby and I are traveling down the road somewhere in the middle of Ohio. And leaving snowy Montreal in the rear view mirror. It is good to be back in the good ol’ USA where I can even blog from my cell phone. Ain’t technology a wonderful thing? I can still remember computers with 20 Mb hard drives. And I do not want to hear from you if you’re not old enough to remember that too. Some things are better left unsaid. Just sayin’.

(I think there is some irony there.)

So because I can’t let my friend, Cathi, in Toronto,

Adventures in Travel: Chapter 592

Guess where I am?  Go ahead…. guess.  I’ll give you a hint.

Yes, that is snow.  And my footprints.

SAMSUNG

This is me shortly after I arrived at my destination.  Figured out where I am yet?

Nope.  Not Alaska.

SAMSUNG

And that’s Dear Hubby getting the scraper out to brush off the car.  Isn’t the snow wonderful?  I wanted to drop to the ground and make snow angels immediately.  Dear Hubby was not amused.  He is ready to leave the snow behind

My Already Done List

Well, you can’t call it a To Do list if the items are already crossed off, right?  And I’ve been a busy girl.

I attribute some of that to the fact that Dear Hubby is leaving Canada and coming back home.  And I am so, so, so very happy about that.  My friend Susan says I’m nesting for his return.  She just might be right.  That and Spring Cleaning have struck me with a vengeance.

So here’s a list of a few of the things that have consumed me lately.

My Already Done List (1)

1.
